Here at Art Dial Watch, we take pride in everything that we do. We are a family owned and run watch shop with 2 generations of employees. Jose Tavares, the founder, owner, and head watchmaker has 40 years of experience. Jose earned his certification in Mexico City and has worked at various watch companies such as Benrus and Waltham. Jose leads his sons, aspiring watchmakers in training, Jose Jr. and Adrian Tavares.
When you come to Art Dial you can be assured that we give each timepiece the same care and respect we give to our own watches. To some, watches are just a tool to keep time. To us, watches are engineering feats and we are honored and passionate about servicing and repairing them. There is a historical significance to each piece– some even treat their watches like an extension of their family. At Art Dial we respect that kind of passion. To these folks, we say, you've come to the right place. Because we too are horological lovers. We are conscience of and respect the provenance of brands and their histories. Each watch has its own individual needs. Often times watches require specific tools, oils, and equipment in order to correctly complete a service, repair, or overhaul. Our state of the art equipment can handle even the rarest most complex timepieces. Whether it's a simple repair, a service, or a complete overhaul, we have the knowledge, expertise, and just as important the approved tools and equipment to make sure your timepiece is exactly the way the watchmakers and horologists intended it to perform. And if it's a simple band or battery change, we can do that too.

What I love about watchmaking: "I have a passion for everything watches. I feel very fortunate that I can do what I love. There's nothing I love more than to come to work in the morning and problem solve, service, and repair watches. I've been doing it for almost 40 years and I will do it for the rest of my life."
Jose Tavares Jr. has been repairing and servicing watches for over twelve years. When he was a toddler he would sit with Jose Sr. and learn the ins and outs of balance wheels, oscillator, and bridges.
